Fate Power Aggregation Kicks Off

Fate residents to save money on their electric bills

(FATE, TX – April 11, 2018) The City of Fate experienced so much success with their last Fate Power Switch Program that they’ve launched another one. Last year, 1 in 4 Fate households registered and saved an average of $368 per year on their energy bills – just by accepting the winning provider’s offer.

This “group switching” program includes voluntary registration with other members of the community, bids from electricity providers to offer their lowest rate to the group, and the chance for each customer to accept or reject the winning offer.  There’s no risk to register and no obligation to accept the offer. Simply go to the CityofFate.com/PowerSwitch and sign up by April 16, 2018.

Registrants do not need to live in the City of Fate to get in on the buying power. However, customers in an electric cooperative or municipal electric utility are not eligible to participate.

City Manager, Michael Kovacs, is happy that Fate is making the process easier for the community.

Kovacs explains, “Your electric bill may be one of your largest monthly expenses, especially in the hot summer months. A lower fixed rate can help lower your bills year round and the Fate Power Switch will take care of the switch for you.”

The City of Fate has teamed up with iChoosr again to oversee the auction, secure competitive bids from respected energy providers and ensure a smooth switching process. iChoosr is an independent service provider and has switched over 1.4 million households to better energy rates with their group switch programs.

Kovacs is urging all Fate residents to sign up for the Fate Power Switch by April 16, 2018. Participation is free and only takes 5 minutes.  Just make sure to have a monthly electric bill close by and register online on the City’s website at www.CityofFate.com/PowerSwitch. No access to the Internet? Visit the library or ask a relative, neighbor or friend to help out.
