Going blue for kids earns ticket to Children’s Advocacy Center events

(ROCKWALL, TX – April 16, 2018) On April 6, 2018, the State of Texas kicked off Child Abuse Awareness Month with Go Blue Day where thousands of Texans wore blue, the official color of prevention, to show their support for children.  This year, several individuals and organizations in Rockwall County submitted creative photos to the Children’s Advocacy Center for Rockwall County for a contest to not only showcase their support for this great cause, but also to win tickets to upcoming events with the Advocacy Center.

There were four categories to submit photos for: Largest Group, Most Creative, Pet, and Kid.

This year, Heritage Christian Academy sent in a group photo of 100 administrators and students in a sea of blue.

The Rockwall Sheriff’s office swept the Most Creative category with their Child Abuse Crime Fighters photo.

Cindy Perrin, President of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall, and her dog “Babs” stood up to take the Best Pet category; and Jennifer Najmabadi with Soroptimists Rockwall sent in an adorable picture of her daughter on a rocking horse to win Best Kid photo.

Winners received complimentary tickets to their choice of Children’s Advocacy Center for Rockwall County’s first annual Bubbles and Bags event on September 13, 2018, where attendees enjoy champagne and play Bingo to win designer purses, or the sold out Go Blue for Kids event taking place on April 27, 2018 at Rockwall Manor.

The second annual Go Blue for Kids Banquet on April 27 is going to be an exciting event, with the Rockwall High School Jazz band performing at the VIP Reception, a wine raffle sponsored by Willis Fine Jewelry, PicFlips photo booth sponsored by Shawn and Vida Valk, a VIP Reception spread sponsored by Dawn Waldron Nelson, LCSW, ACSW, complimentary party favors sponsored by Elaine Sullivan of Coldwell Banker, and bar sponsored by Bankhead Brewing Company and Ryan and Mary Bierds.

The Go Blue for Kids event is a Boots and Pearls theme and would not be possible without the support of so many sponsors.  The Children’s Advocacy Center for Rockwall County would like to give special thanks to the Title Pearl Sponsor, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital; Diamond Sponsor, Wendi Conley; and Sapphire Sponsors, Inwood Bank and Williamson Foundation Repair; as well as all of the aquamarine and corporate sponsors that will be supporting and attending the event.
