Reveal of ‘Information Hubs’ presented by Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall

Class of 2018 Mission:

Providing a solution for Rockwall County residents in the midst of crisis

(ROCKWALL, TX – April 4, 2018) The Leadership Rockwall Class of 2018 will reveal its class project during a Ribbon Cutting & Open House event on Wednesday, May 2. The community is welcome for refreshments and the ribbon cutting ceremony from 4pm-5pm at the Rockwall County Helping Hands Health Center, 401 W. Rusk St., Suite 200. Then, from 5 to 6 p.m., guests will be invited to tour all of the locations where the ‘Information Hubs’ are featured.

The mission of the Leadership Rockwall Class of 2018 was to “provide a solution for Rockwall County residents in the midst of crisis to gain online access to tools needed in transition.” The ribbon cutting will reveal several Information Hubs – six located within Rockwall County Helping Hands, one within Women In Need, and two within the Children’s Advocacy Center.

“Every Class Member shared the same heart to really help those in crisis within our community. We felt that these Information Hubs could serve them in a safe place by providing the ability to apply for jobs, search for housing, and other critical needs that can only be accessed through online services,” said LR2018 class member Patricia Mejia.

Melody Hail, Senior Director of Philanthropy at Helping Hands, added, “When someone escapes an abusive home, loses everything in a fire, faces eviction, or other traumatic situations, there aren’t many safe places for them to access all of the great information that is found online. These hubs will help those existing clients when they are in their deepest time of need. In addition, state of the art indoor digital billboards will be installed at each location.  Information about other social service organizations in the community will be displayed on these devices—helping to build a bridge between needs and solutions.”

The Information Hubs are made possible by the support of Title Sponsor Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Rockwall, and Silver Sponsors the George & Claudette Hatfield Foundation and Milestone Electric.

Leadership Rockwall also wishes to thank its other sponsors: Allegiance Title, American National Bank, Southwest Kia, Guaranty Bank, Lacy Deckard Realtor, North American Title, Cindy Tayem and the Rockwall ISD Education Foundation.

The Class of 2018 is excited to share these Information Hubs with the community. For more information, contact the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce at 972-771-9533 or visit www.rockwallchamber.org.
