Our full color, hyper-local print edition is now published monthly and direct mailed free to more than 20,000+ homes throughout Rockwall and Heath (75087 & 75032 zip codes).

Extra copies are available for pick up at the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce, the JER Chilton YMCA, the Rockwall County Library and various local businesses. Meals on Wheels often delivers copies to area homebound seniors along with their meals. Additional copies of the print edition are available on a first-come, first-served basis by calling 214-342-8000. Due to high demand, there is a $5 charge to cover postage and handling when mailing out additional copies.

Publisher/Editor-in-Chief Dawn Redig has 30 years experience in print and broadcast journalism. She is a former Dallas Morning News editor, reporter and columnist. Her work experience also includes The Beaumont Enterprise, The Orange Leader, Lamar University/University Press, KBMT-TV Channel 12, Hall Publications/Nintendo/NFL Playoff, and CBS Radio.

Dawn serves on the Board of Directors of Meals on Wheels Senior Services of Rockwall County. She is active in the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce, where her husband serves as Chairman of the Board. She is a charter member of the Rockwall Professional Women’s Alliance.

Blue Ribbon News Editor and Senior Staff Writer/Reporter Austin Wells is a graduate of the University of North Texas where he studied radio, television, and film. He’s a pretty awesome photographer, too!

Austin is a native of Rockwall and graduated from Rockwall High School in 2007. He has worked for the Rockwall Herald Banner and CBS Radio. He is the author of Images of America: Heath, which captures the history of Heath, TX through vintage photos. He is a member of Young Professionals of Rockwall, and has performed on stage with the Rockwall Community Playhouse.

Julie Anne White serves as a Social Media Strategist for our marketing accounts through BRN Media. She is also responsible for much of our layout and design work, and continues to do reporting and feature writing for Blue Ribbon News.

The Rockwall native was Editor-in-Chief of her high school newspaper and recently graduated from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas with a degree in journalism. She came to us full-time following three summer internships with Blue Ribbon News.

Max retired from the U.S. Army in 2009 as a Lieutenant Colonel, Senior Space Operations Officer and Master Aviator.  He amassed over 3,200 hours as a pilot of Special Electronic Mission Airplanes.  Since 2004 he has been a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador, is a Master of Astronomical Outreach through the Astronomcial League and built his own astronomical observatory.
