Royse City LegionFest 2018

On April 7th the Royse City American Legion Post will be hosting a kids carnival/festival to celebrate April as the American Legion Children & Youth month. There will be Games, Vendors, Food Vendors, Music and Bounce Houses. We will have fun interactive demonstrations and much more.

For the kids there will be a $5 wristband that will give them access to all of the games and bounce houses. Vendor booth’s is $30 for a 15X20 booth. Game sponsors who provide a game or demonstration will have their vendor fee waived. Event Sponsors are needed with sponsorship levels beginning at just $100 there is a level for every business.

The American Legion is a 501C Non-Profit whose mission is to serve and assist Veterans, support youth and to support the community.  All proceeds from the event will go to supporting the Royse City American Legion youth programs which include scholarships, Boy’s and Girl’s State and more. Reagan Day

The Rockwall County Republican Party invites all area Republicans to Reagan Day on March 3, 2018 at the George W. Bush Presidential Center, located on the Southern Methodist University campus. This year’s guest speaker will be former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke.

The evening kicks off with a VIP reception time (with purchase of VIP pass) from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., including light refreshments and live orchestral music. The main program begins with reception-style dinner, followed by Clarke’s key note presentation in the auditorium at 8 p.m. The night will conclude with desserts and beverages from a cash bar.

Sheriff David Clarke, Jr. (Ret.) spent four decades in law enforcement and is the best-selling author of “Cop Under Fire.” He is Senior Advisor to America First Action Super PAC and is a frequent guest on Fox News. Clarke is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Concordia University, Wisconsin and holds an M.A. in Security Studies from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, Center for Homeland Defense and Security. In his Reagan Day speech, he plans to “promote conservative values in a no-nonsense way.”

Individual Tickets are priced at $150 and include dinner, cash bar, live auction, live entertainment and Clarke’s presentation, followed by a coffee and dessert reception.

The VIP Package, priced at $200, includes everything in Individual Ticket package, as well as access to the George W. Bush Presidential Library from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., and the VIP reception including champagne and hors d’oeuvres from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

This annual event honors the conservative principles and legacy of Ronald Reagan, and serves as Rockwall County GOP’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Proceeds will work to help elect Republicans locally and statewide.

Black Star Sport Horses 2018 Spring Series

Premier dressage training, show, and sales facility Black Star Sport Horses (5565 FM 549, Rockwall, TX 75032) today announces the schedule for the 2018 Spring Series. The popular spring schooling shows allow horse-enthusiasts all over Dallas-Fort Worth to enjoy the beauty of European warmbloods as they compete in non-rated horse shows at Black Star’s 250+ acre farm. The shows are rain or shine (though may be canceled for lighting) and take place in Black Star’s covered arena, one of the largest privately owned arenas in the state of Texas.

The schooling shows begin at 9 am. The duration of each show is dependent on the number of entries. Spectators can watch horses and riders of all levels starting with introductory levels in the morning and higher levels of dressage in the afternoon. Visit the Black Star Sport Horses Facebook page the week of the event for exact times. Parking and entry is free for spectators. Concessions are available for purchase.

Democratic Primary Town Hall

Democratic primary candidates Lander Bethel of Sherman and Catherine Krantz of Emory are running for U.S. Congress, Texas District 4, and will be hosting multiple Town Halls across the District. Come out and introduce yourself, and tell them what your concerns are.

The March 6, 2018, Democratic primary will decide which one of them goes on to face the Republican primary winner, Dr. John Cooper of Sulphur Springs or the incumbent Rep. John Ratcliffe of Heath. Bethel and Krantz have a friendly respectful rapport and think they can bring a stronger message to more people by campaigning together.
