Trailblazer Benefit and Bonfire

Join Rockwall ISD Education Foundation on Saturday, Nov. 3, as they celebrate their 15-year anniversary at Summerfield at Tate Farms with a Trailblazer Benefit and Bonfire! Beginning at 6:30 p.m., enjoy a casual evening under the stars with dinner and spirits, live music by Cocobolo Wind and a nostalgic, old-school bonfire. The REF will honor former board members, recognize RISD alumni and present the first-ever “Trailblazer Award” to a member of the community who exemplifies the REF’s mission.

Rockwall ISD Job Fair

Rockwall ISD is hosting a Job Fair on Saturday, April 7, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Rockwall High School. Campus Administrators and Program Directors will be available to discuss job opportunities for the 2018-2019 school year. No registration required!

Pre-retirement Event for Retiring Teachers

Calling all Rockwall area teachers:  If you are considering retiring this year or in the near future, there is a pre-retirement event presented by several districts in our area with information which may be helpful to you.  This event will be held on February 24, 2018, at the First Methodist Church, 801 West Ave B, in Garland.  There is no cost and registration will be the door at 9:00 am.  A representative from the Texas Retirement System will be one of the speakers.  Spouses are welcome to attend.  This event will conclude at approximately noon.

19th Annual USO Show

Amy Parks-Heath Elementary School Music Director Jan Stonestreet, and the Starlight Singers are showcasing the music from the Vietnam War in the 19th Annual USO Show. The event will be held at Cain Middle School located on 6620 FM 3097, Rockwall, TX 75032.

Full Metal Jackets Robotics Raffle

It’s raffle time in Rockwall! The Full Metal Jackets FRC 1296 Booster Club is raffling a 2017 Ford Mustang to support Rockwall High School robotics. To purchase tickets visit rockwallrobotics.com and click on the car.

The prize is a 2017 Ford Mustang V6 Fastback and is currently on display at Rockwall Ford (990 E Interstate 30). One must be 18 years or older to enter. One need not be present to win. No more than 2500 tickets to be sold. Ticket sales and drawing are audited by Lori Orta, CPAs. The prize is selected on December 16 at 5 p.m. at Rockwall Ford.

Breast Cancer Awareness Night

Rockwall ISD and Rockwall Ford are honored to host Breast Cancer Awareness Night at Wilkerson-Sanders Memorial Stadium Friday, October 27 at 7:15 p.m.

The event will be followed by the Rockwall vs. Tyler Lee football game at 7:30 p.m.

Middle School Band Jump-Start Camp

The Cain and Utley Middle School band staff are joining forces to host a two-week jump start camp for any interested 6th, 7th, or 8th grade band student. The camp will be taught and led by the Cain and Utley Middle School band staffs, including private teachers.

At the beginning band jump-start camp, students will learn the basics to their instrument, including instrument assembly, instrument maintenance, making the first sounds, playing the first notes, and much more.

At the middle school jump-start camp, students will “catch up” on tone and technique in preparation for the upcoming school year, and cover topics such as scales, pep tunes, tuning, tone production, vibrato, and much more.

The jump-start clinics are open to any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student enrolled in band at Cain or Utley Middle Schools, or one of their feeder elementary schools.

All students will also receive a camp t-shirt and other surprises throughout the week! The cost of the camp is $10 and can be paid via cash or check at the start of camp.

Rockwall ISD New Teacher Welcome Breakfast

Rockwall ISD new teachers and employees gather with area business leaders and citizens to kick off the new school year at the Rockwall ISD New Teacher Welcome Breakfast on Wednesday, Aug. 9, at the Rockwall Chamber of Commerce office. Presented by Baylor, Scott and White Medical Center, this event is a great opportunity to build your brand awareness and a wonderful way to show your appreciation to the individuals who will be teaching and caring for Rockwall’s future leaders.

A portion of the proceeds will be gifted to RISD Education Foundation to award an Innovative Teaching grant focused on Entrepreneurship & Commerce.
