Outdoor Family Campout

Enjoy an outdoor family campout at Harry Myers Park, 1 p.m. Saturday through 10 a.m. Sunday. Bring the family for a day of fishing, kayaking/canoeing, archery, and campfire activities. Create an outdoor craft to take home and grab your rods for night fishing after the cookout dinner! Bring your tent and sleeping bags for a night under the stars at Harry Myers Park. A hot breakfast and coffee will be provided Sunday morning.

*Pre-registration is required. Please notify us of any food allergies or dietary restrictions. Open to all ages. $23 / $15 per person (Discounted Resident Fee)

World War I Exhibits and Training Depot Reenactment

In commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of World War I – the “War to End Wars” – the Terry Fisher American Legion Post, Rockwall County Historical Foundation, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Rockwall Parks and Recreation have aligned to honor the United States efforts during the Great War.

The Rockwall County Historical Foundation, Rockwall County Historical Commission, and the DAR will host exhibits at the RCHF Museum and Bailey House at 815 Washington in Harry Myers Park.   These exhibits are private collections from citizens, DAR members and other contributors.  It will include pictures, weapons, artifacts and other historical items. The Bailey House will be the site for the exhibits and be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Founders Day, May 19.

The Terry Fisher American Legion Post 117 will conduct an interactive history event for elementary-aged children from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Boys and girls will be reenacting enlistment, induction and basic training drills similar to those the “Doughboys” experienced 100 years ago. A Memorial Day Concert at The Harbor on Thursday evening, May 24 at 6:30 p.m. will highlight WWI in music and spirit.  Special emphasis will be given to the 21 veterans of military service from Rockwall who paid the ultimate sacrifice in WWI.

Rockwall Founders Day Festival 2018

Come celebrate Rockwall’s 164th birthday this Saturday at Rockwall Founders Day Festival 2018! Presented by Rockwall Parks and Recreation, this free event will take place at Harry Myers Park all day long from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and features tons of fun for the whole family with live music, food and retail vendors, and a Kids Zone.

Headliner the Josh Abbott Band will take the Southwest Kia main stage beginning at 8 p.m., with country/southern rock singer-songwriter Shooter Jennings performing as the opener at 6 p.m. Other bands performing throughout the day include Whiskey Hat, Benton Lawson, Nick Snyder & the Real Deal, and Redwine Band.

Food and retail vendors will be on site all day for folks to shop arts and crafts, children’s items, jewelry, candles, ceramics and more. Rockwall Parks and Rec and Rockwall Squares dance club are offering Square Dance lessons for couples, singles and families of all ages!  Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 1st at 7:45 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., the first two lessons are free, and take place at The Center in downtown Rockwall. The cost will be $25 per person for residents of the City of Rockwall and $39 per person for non residents. This will include lessons on Tuesdays until December and get dancers to the “Mainstream” level.

Rockwall Dog Days

Bring out your puppers to Harry Myers West on Saturday, June 24, and get them vaccinated at a very low cost!

This is a great opportunity to get your pet registered with the City of Rockwall for FREE, as well as go ahead and get your dog or cat vaccinated for much less than you might find otherwise.

Event Time: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM *Proof of Rabies Vaccination Required to enter into dog event area*

• Pet Registration & Low Cost Vaccine Clinic/Microchipping operates from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

On the two baseball fields at Harry Myers West will be some activities and free play areas for dogs between 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Check out the Wildlife Instruction Learning & Discovery trailer at this event as well! The trailer has many animals that you might find in our local region and our Animal Services Specialists will answer questions from kids about the animals seen.

Come hungry, Mingling Mouth Food Truck will be on site selling delicious grub.

Outdoor Family Campout

Enjoy a day of fishing, disc golf, canoes, archery, and more at the Outdoor Family Campout hosted by Rockwall Parks and Recreation on  While you learn how to cook campfire dishes in a Dutch Oven your kids will play games and learn outdoor skills. Do a little night fishing and go on a scavenger hunt before lights out. Each family registering before April 10 will receive an Outdoor Family Campout T-shirt. Bring your tent and sleeping bags for a night under the stars in the Harry Myers Park. A hot breakfast and coffee will be provided Sunday morning.

Rockwall Founders’ Day Festival 2016

Come celebrate Rockwall’s 162nd birthday with the Rockwall Founder’s Day Festival 2016, featuring big name country music bands Diamond Rio and Stoney LaRue! The outdoor festival will run from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, at Harry Myers Park (815 E Washington St), and will include plenty of fun activities the whole family can enjoy, plus many unique shopping and food vendors. Bounce houses, an obstacle course, inflatable shooting range, a maze and a whirly ball competition will ensure the kids have a fantastic time as well!
