Lake Pointe Health Network earns accreditation in CT

(Rowlett) The Lake Pointe Health Network has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in CT as the result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology.

This accreditation covers Lake Pointe Medical Center and the Lake Pointe Imaging Centers in Forney and Rockwall. The diagnostic imaging centers in Forney and Rockwall offer all the digital imaging services of a full-service hospital in the comfort and convenience of a free-standing imaging center.

The ACR awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation of the practice. Evaluations are conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. They assess the qualifications of the personnel and the adequacy of equipment at the facility. The surveyors report their findings to the ACR’s Committee on Accreditation, which subsequently provides the practice with a comprehensive report.

“This ACR accreditation recognizes the dedication of our employees and medical staff to ensure that we consistently meet these nationally accepted standards,” said Tracy Sifuentes, Director of Imaging Services at the Lake Pointe Health Network. “Being ACR accredited in CT is a great honor. Our patients expect the highest quality of care and customer service, and this designation is a testament to the dedication of our staff to meeting and exceeding their expectations each and every day.”

Physicians ordering diagnostic imaging for their patients can be assured that Lake Pointe has gone through a rigorous review process to meet these nationally accepted standards. The accreditation means that the personnel are well-qualified, through education and certification, to perform and interpret medical images and administer radiation treatments. It also signifies appropriate equipment is available and the facility meets or exceeds quality assurance and safety guidelines. In the near future, some insurance companies will require their insured only receive imaging services from an ACR accredited facility.
