Register now for 10K, 5K Wylie East Raider Run

Wylie East High School Baseball and Softball will present the second annual Raider Run, Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 at WEHS. The event will include a 10K and 5K race, as well as a one mile fun run.

The top male and female finishers in the 10K and 5K races will win an iPod Nano. Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers by age group: under 19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 6o-plus.

Chip timing will be used for the 10K and 5K race. Chips will be collected at the finish line. Results will be posted on racechiptiming.com.

Pre-register at active.com before Monday, Jan. 30 to be guaranteed a souvenir T-shirt. The cost for the 10K is $30; the cost for the 5K is $25; the one mile fun run is $15. Fees increase by $5 after Jan. 30. On-site registration is from 7 to 7:45 a.m. on race day, Feb. 11. Races start at 8 a.m., with the Fun Run immediately following.

Race parking is located in Wylie East’s North West Auditorium parking lot. The start and finish line will be located by the tennis courts on the east side of the school. The course will circle the campus and continue on Bennett Road.

Cancellation will occur in extreme weather circumstances; there will be no refunds and entry fees will be used as a donation. For weather updates, participants can call 972-765-5916 after 7 a.m.
