Fireworks over Lake Grapevine aren’t just for Fourth of July

(Grapevine) June 26, 2012 – Light a firecracker under your July 4th celebration in Grapevine! With fireworks, special Independence Day train rides and activities throughout the holiday weekend, Grapevine is the place to be to celebrate America’s birthday.

On Wednesday, July 4th, Grapevine celebrates in true patriotic style with the 30th Annual July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza over Lake Grapevine. This nearly 30-minute fireworks extravaganza begins at 9:30 p.m. with great viewing spots located around Lake Grapevine including the Gaylord Texan Resort’s parking garage, the Glass Cactus nightclub, other area hotels and a variety of city parks.

Fireworks shows all summer

If you can’t make it to Grapevine for the July 4th fireworks, you’ll want to make plans to see fireworks over Lake Grapevine held every Friday night now through Labor Day weekend. This 12-minute show is a Grapevine tradition and fun for the entire family!

Before the fireworks, hop aboard the Grapevine Vintage Railroad’s Independence Day trains. On July 4th, enjoy the one hour fun run starting at 10 a.m. or the regular 1 p.m. route to the Fort Worth Stockyards. The 1 p.m. train ride guests will enjoy the Great Train Robberies experience featuring a group of outlaws and the deputies trying to stop them along the route. The Wild West Package on the 1 p.m. train ride also includes tickets to the 2:30 p.m. Pawnee Bill’s Wild West Show at Cowtown Coliseum in the Fort Worth Stockyards.

Reds, Whites and You Wine Trail

Start your Grapevine July 4th celebration early! On Saturday, June 30, visit Grapevine for the Reds, Whites and You Wine Trail. Guests will receive three tastings at each participating winery tasting room, a large crystal souvenir wine glass, food samplings and a bottle of premium wine. The cost is $45 in advance and $50 at the door. Participants must be 21 and older.

Participating wineries include Cross Timbers Winery, D’Vine Wine, Farina’s Winery, Homestead Winery, La Buena Vida Vineyards, Su Vino Winery.

‘I Pledge Allegiance’ at Grapevine Opry

Enjoy the patriotic salute of the Grapevine Opry on July 7 at the Historic Palace Theatre. The “I Pledge Allegiance” performance will include a variety of patriotic songs. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. For ticket information, visit gvopry.com.
