August 9, 2012 – Saturday, August 11, is Champions Day 2.0 at all five Hawaiian Falls waterparks. Special needs kids and their families will have exclusive use of the park from 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

The parks will open to the public 10:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. but the families can stay all day if they want at no additional charge.

“We held our annual Champions day June 23,” said Evan Barnett, vice president of Hawaiian Falls. “It was such a success and we got requests from many special needs families to do it again. So we’re going to host a second Champions Day this season on August 11.”

The Champions (special needs children or adults) get in free. Family members can purchase special discount tickets for $5 each (regular admission is $25.99) with a Champions Day coupon, available for download at http://hfalls.com/

“We want special needs families to be able play together at any of our five waterparks before we open to the general public,” explained Barnett. “They are welcome to stay as long as they want after we open. They can stay and play all day for no extra charge. The Champion gets in free. We do not require any records or certification. A parent knows if their child (or adult) has special needs, and that is sufficient for us. All they need to do is to go to hfalls.com and print out the Champions Day coupon. Family members get in for only $5 per person. Again, we don’t limit family members or ask for any identification. We are trying to bless these families, so if Uncle Bill wants to come with them, then he is only $5, too. If a guardian is not directly related, but cares for a special needs child, then, of course, they are welcome.”

Champions Day will be 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. this Saturday, August 11 at all five Hawaiian Falls waterparks: Garland, The Colony, Mansfield, Roanoke and Waco. The parks will be open to the public 10:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
