Blue Bell honors Rockwall HS chef/instructor with ice cream party

(Rockwall ISD) September 17, 2012 – Blue Bell handed out more than 2,000 free ice cream sandwiches to the staff and students at Rockwall High School on Thursday, September 13.

The special treat was held to show support for RHS Chef/Instructor Cody Hayes who has advanced to the state level of the Texas Teacher of the Year Competition.

Chef Hayes was first named as Rocwkall ISD Secondary Teacher of the Year where he advance to the regional level of the competition. He became the first teacher in the history of Rockwall ISD to be named as the regional winner.

The Texas Association of School Administrators recently announced that Chef Hayes is a finalist, meaning he is one of the top three secondary teachers in the state of Texas. He will be interviewed later this month. The Texas Teacher of the Year will be announced in October.
