First Christian Church welcomes community to World Communion Festival

International dishes, music, and special guest speakers: 50-year Missionaries to Thailand, Allan and Joan Eubank

(Rockwall) September 10, 2012 – First Christian Church of Rockwall invites the community to join them for the World Communion Festival on Sunday, October 7.

The event begins with an international dinner (potluck) at 5 p.m., followed by World Communion Worship at 6.  Attendees are asked to bring foods from around the world (especially from your own heritage), and also invited to wear any traditional ethnic clothing you may have.

Joan and Allan Eubank served as missionaries in Thailand for 51 years. They served with The Global Ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Thailand for 39 years. Although retired from the Mission Board, they continue to serve the church in Thailand.

For the last two years, the City of Rockwall has hosted the Toyota Triathlon, one of five such major events in the nation, on the first Sunday of October.  In spite of recent route changes, our church building is still very difficult to access on those Sunday mornings.  The first Sunday of October is also World Communion Sunday, where Christians around the Globe celebrate their oneness in Christ at His table.  This year, we are foregoing our Sunday morning schedule and instead we will hold this evening celebration.

First Christian Church is located at 3375 Ridge Road in Rockwall, 1.4 miles south of I-30.
