Youth Advisory Council students taste test school menu items

(Rockwall ISD) September 26, 2012 – Dobbs Elementary members of YAC (Youth Advisory Council) approve kale chips and entrée choices for the school menu.

These Dobbs students recently had a tasting in the school cafeteria with manager and chef Erin Gooch.

They tasted kale raw and then cooked with seasoned salt.  Kale is becoming a high demand item with school children around the country.  It is inexpensive and is loaded with great vitamins.  It will be served at Dobbs with ranch dip.

These YAC students also reviewed part of the October menu and voted for their favorite entrée for each day.
