(Dallas) November 7, 2012 – Rebuilding Together Greater Dallas, a nonprofit organization working to preserve affordable homeownership, along with its sponsors, presented a local veteran with the keys to her newly restored home today. Rebuilding Together Greater Dallas received the home from Wells Fargo and through the efforts of many volunteers and corporate sponsors was able to renovate the home and provide the home at 2047 Canada Drive in Dallas to Carmen Coston in honor of Veterans Day.

Under the direction of Rebuilding Together Greater Dallas, volunteers and Carmen Coston painted the home and provided new landscaping. Prior to the event, skilled tradesmen completed several projects including all new siding, drywall, cabinets, electrical, plumbing, flooring,  as well as the installation of  new appliances and beds throughout the home. Freddie Mac volunteers provided kitchen and bathroom items needed for everyday living.

“Veterans in need of assistance are dear to our hearts,” said Maggie Brodnax, executive director of Rebuilding Together Greater Dallas. “Whenever we can do a project that shows the gratitude we have for their service to our country and our freedom, we are honored to have that opportunity. ”

Sponsors of this project included Wells Fargo, Sears, Dickey’s Barbeque, Ocean Prime, The Home Depot Foundation, Hudson Advisors, Home Steps (Freddie Mac Homes), Vendor Resource Management, Milestone Electric, NARI,  Cody & Songs Plumbing, Moisan Remodeling and Performance Drywall.
