Special needs children seek help funding trip to Morgan’s Wonderland

(Garland ISD) November 1, 2012 – Some very special children at Luna Elementary need help in funding a trip Morgan’s Wonderland, an amusement park in San Antonio that was built entirely for special needs children. Morgan’s Wonderland unlocks a whole new world for these children through sensory stimulation with lights and music, accessible play and social development.

The high cost of medical treatments, therapies and assistive devices makes this trip extremely difficult to afford for the families of these children. They are diagnosed with downs syndrome, intellectual disabilities, autism, speech impairments and a variety of health issues.

By going to Morgan’s Wonderland, these children will have access to things that they could not participate in before or just could not benefit from because of situations that were simply too overwhelming for them or did not tap into their individual ways of learning.
