Innovative Teaching Grant recipients recognized

Fall 2012 recipients represent 15 campuses & six grants, totaling more than $21,000

(ROCKWALL ISD-December 11, 2012) The Rockwall ISD Education Foundation’s Fall 2012 Innovative Teaching Grant recipients were presented to the Rockwall ISD Board of Trustees during their recent December meeting.

Grants Committee chairman, Larry Womack, recognized the recipients who represented 15 campuses and six outstanding, innovative grants.

The group was collectively awarded $21,987.56 to cover concepts such as cultural diversity, sports medicine, rocketry, and artistic character tiles.

Board President Doug Hamilton also addressed the group, expressing the District’s appreciation for the teachers’ enthusiasm, dedication and desire to give their students an extra learning experience in the classroom.

The RISD Education Foundation, Inc. was chartered in 2003 and is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. The mission is to generate and distribute resources to the Rockwall ISD to enrich and expand programs needed to meet the District’s stated mission of cultivating an engaging learning environment based on high standards and expectations.
