Community fundraising event benefits Orange Wave Band

Stop by Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium and help students by test driving a Ford in the parking lot

(ROCKWALL-April 12, 2013) Across the United States, vital music programs are affected annually due to growing budgetary constraints and lack of funding. Without fundraisers, youth would miss out on extremely valuable opportunities to expand their knowledge and diversify their interests. Rockwall Ford and Ford Motor Company want to keep these opportunities available for students at Rockwall High School. The funds will help provide band, music lessons, competitions, band trips and more.

Rockwall High Band Boosters is teaming with Rockwall Ford to bring Ford Motor Company’s Drive 4 UR School program to the community in an effort to raise up to $9,000 for Rockwall High Orange Wave Band. For every person who takes the wheel test-driving a new Ford at Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium on Saturday, May 11, Rockwall Ford and Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to Rockwall High Band.  Drivers must be 18 or older and have a valid driver’s license. Bring the family and enjoy live entertainment, a Ford car show, Joe Willy’s burgers, drinks and a bake sale along with a silent auction and a bounce house.

” Drive 4 UR School is a win-win fun event. Everyone in the community is invited to drop by and have some fun with us,” said Michelene Trent, Rockwall High Band Boosters Event Chair.

The event, which will be held from 10 a.m to 5 p.m, will feature many vehicles from Ford’s impressive line-up. Dealership staff will be on site to assist; otherwise this is a day to have fun driving a Ford and raising funds for the band.
