(ROCKWALL-April 1, 2013) By all accounts, last month’s “Dollars for Dogs” concert was a huge success. Rockwall students Nikki Vu and Kevin Kim organized the benefit concert at Williams Middle School as part of a class project.

Everyone takes a well-deserved bow.

The evening was a showcase of Rockwall’s young musical talent, featuring students performing everything from Rachmaninoff to Apocolyptica. The musicians ranged in age from elementary school to college. The concert ended with a rousing standing ovation from an appreciative audience.

But the concert is proving to be a success long after the music ended. Nikki and Kevin organized the concert as a fundraiser for the homeless pets of Rockwall Pets. They presented checks totaling nearly $600 to the nonprofit rescue group. The donations will be used to fund the treatment of ill and injured pets who were at risk of dying in area animal shelters.
