Tasty new details announced for DFW Restaurant Week

2013 Restaurants to be Unveiled Reservation Day: July 15;  Main Week of Dining: Aug. 12-18

(Dallas) July 2, 2013 –  It’s time for diners to prepare their palates for North Texas’ hottest summer food and wine event, the 16th annual DFW Restaurant Week presented by Central Market. Back with a new name and pricing options to spotlight the stellar lineup of participating restaurants throughout the Metroplex, DFW Restaurant Week will once again be supporting the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope Home.

The culinary festivities will kick-off with Reservation Day, July 15, when the much-anticipated list of this year’s participating restaurants and menus will be unveiled at DFWRestaurantWeek.com, and diners will begin making reservations for the main week of Aug. 12-18, and beyond.

DFW Restaurant Week – Tasty Details for 2013

Diners can enjoy a different scene and cuisine every day as they select from more than 125 top restaurants offering delicious three-course prix fixe dinners for either $35 or $45 (new this year for select restaurants), or the Cadillac Lunch Experience brought to you by Oak Farms Dairy, featuring three-course lunches for just $25 at many locations.  Twenty percent from each meal purchased will be donated to charity partners, the North Texas Food Bank in Dallas or the Lena Pope Home in Fort Worth.

Reservation Day will reveal participation dates (from Aug. 12 through Sept. 1 extensions), menus, and dinner pricing for each restaurant, as well as where to enjoy all of the additionally scrumptious DFW Restaurant Week offerings, including:

Dedicated to offering a variety of fine dining experiences at the hottest restaurants for a great value, DFW Restaurant Week organizers say that the new $45 dinner option provides a way for chefs to feature specially priced menus that are representative of their restaurants’ established high-end cuisine, at a time when the food costs are at a premium.  Restaurants will choose to offer either $35 or $45 dinner menus and will be categorized on the DFW Restaurant Week website by pricing, for simple selection by diners.

DFW Restaurant Week – Charity Partners

A major charity fundraiser supporting the regional community, DFW Restaurant Week (formerly KRLD Restaurant Week) raised a record $760,000+ for the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope Home last year alone – representing a 9 percent increase in funds raised compared to the previous year.

“DFW Restaurant Week is one of our most popular and important fundraisers,” said Jan Pruitt, president and CEO, North Texas Food Bank.  “It’s an ideal way to enjoy a fabulous meal at a deal, while also putting food on tables for children, families and seniors in need.  The donation from just one dinner purchased during the campaign will provide up to 27 meals for hungry North Texans.”

Todd A. Landry, executive director, Lena Pope Home, says DFW Restaurant Week makes an enormous impact on funding and awareness for the organization’s work helping Tarrant County children and families, while also promoting area restaurant friends.  “We love the excitement of Reservation Day when the restaurants are revealed and our supporters begin to tell us where they will be dining for DFW Restaurant Week,” said Landry. “Whether enjoying at an old favorite or trying a new dining adventure, the community is giving back to a great cause with every meal purchased.”
