Rockwall County Historical Foundation to create community deck of playing cards

(ROCKWALL COUNTY-Sept 13, 2013) The Rockwall County Historical Foundation is working to create a deck of playing cards that will feature unique historical photos and educational facts about Rockwall County on the face of each card.  This deck offers a fantastic opportunity for the community to get involved.

All 56 of the card faces may be sponsored by anyone who is interested.  Individuals may want to put “In Memory of…” or “In Honor of…” on a card.  Businesses may want to support the organization by listing their name and phone number or location.

In addition to text sponsorship, four local businesses may also display their company logo (in sepia or black and white only) along with their sponsor information on the Wild cards included in the deck.

Playing card sponsorships vary in price from $75 to $250 for standard sponsorships and $500 for Wild cards.

These limited edition playing cards are a great way to highlight our community and preserve our history by creating a fun, collectible new artifact to share.  Besides raising much-needed funds, the project will help raise awareness of the Rockwall County Historical Foundation and also further its mission.

Upon the completion of the project, the playing cards will be sold by members of the organization and in local businesses.  The organization will be proud to offer these limited edition playing cards to the public at a cost of $10 per deck.

To sponsor a card or for more information, contact foundation member Stephanie Bennett at 724-494-7078, drop by the museum at 901 E. Washington, Rockwall, Texas 75087, or email .
