City of Rockwall opens The Center for citizens without power

City of Rockwall opens The Center for citizens without power
Freezing conditions have broken tree limbs and downed power lines throughout the area.

ROCKWALL (December 6, 2013) Effective at 8 p.m., the City of Rockwall is opening The Center at 108 E. Washington Street (south of the Downtown Square) as a warming station for those citizens still without power.

No food or drinks are available at this location except for vending machines, so you are encouraged to bring snacks and non-alcoholic beverages for you and your family to tide you over for awhile.

Citizens are invited to stay as long as necessary. Cots and formal sleeping facilities are not available. It is our understanding that Oncor is working to restore power but it may take several more hours to accomplish. The City appreciates everyone’s patience while we work through this extreme weather event together.
