Rockwall Texas Sports Red 12U ball players emerge as ‘Cal Ripken Experience’ national champs

ROCKWALL, TX (July 15, 2014) Members of the Rockwall Texas Sports Red select ball team, part of the Big League Sports Academy, are back home celebrating victory after taking first place in the Cal Ripken 2014 Beach Blast National Championship in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The ‘Ripken Experience’ welcomed 24 12U teams representing several states across the U.S. The Rockwall team went 3-1-1 in pool play and 4-0 in bracket. The boys earned Championship rings, and an MLB World Series replica trophy.

Congratulations to all of the players: Campbell Anderson, Blake Anderson, Jaxon Chaney, Tyler Dickey, Collin Ethridge, Zack Haaland, Jackson Hall, Jackson Huber, Barrett Riebock, Elijah San Juan, Logan Titsworth and Jalen Webster.

The Texas Sports Red ball team is led by Chris Ethridge, Manager and Director of Big League Sports Academy; David Dickey, Pitching Coach; Joe Huber, Bench Coach; Matt Riebock, Special Assistant.

Texas Sports is a select baseball organization made up of boys ages 6 to 18. The teams practice year round in the 6,000 square foot batting facility located at 505 County Line Road in Rockwall, 75032 – complete with pitching mounds and batting cages. The facility sits on four acres of land and features an outdoor batting cage and a full-size baseball field with lights. While half of the team works out indoors, the other team members are on the field working on defense.
