Fitness personalized: Rockwall trainer customizes sessions to be ‘a cut above’

ROCKWALL, TX (October 4, 2014) Rockwall resident Shawn Jordan has been on the road to fitness ever since he could walk. That’s when his father, a former professional football player in Italy (NIFL) and minor league baseball player, first introduced him to fitness as a lifestyle choice.

By incorporating age-appropriate exercises and athletic activities into his daily routine from the time he was a toddler, Jordan says he believes his father inspired, what was already, a natural inclination.

“My father started training me when I was two and had me in sports by the time I was six,” says Shawn Jordan, owner, Shawn Jordan’s Total Performance Training (SJTPT). “That early exposure ignited my own desire, and it just took off from there. Fitness has always been an integral part of my life.”

Training with professional coaches and athletes over the years lead him to study at the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Jordan went on to become an NASM certification prep instructor, which further inspired him to pursue other certificate programs as well as a career in the field.

“I was asked by the director at Bally Total Fitness in Newport News, Virginia, if I would teach members the workouts I used for myself that got me looking so fit,” explains Jordan. “Within ten months, I was promoted to Personal Trainer Director at their facility, and increased the club’s ranking from number twenty to number two in the country.”

After having worked professionally in the fitness industry for ten years, Jordan started Shawn Jordan’s Total Performance Training (SJTPT) four and a half years ago.

Rockwall resident and professional personal trainer, Shawn Jordan (seen here standing), Owner of Shawn Jordan's Total Performance Training, offers personal one-on-one workouts as well as boot camps, sports performance training, corrective exercise and massage therapy.

“I currently train 40 to 50 clients per month, the majority of which I work out at Eclipse Fitness in Rockwall,” says Jordan. “Eclipse is an excellent club with a great atmosphere, fabulous staff, and state of the art equipment, making it the perfect venue. I also offer in-home training, as well as work-outs in local parks for those who prefer an outdoor experience.”

Lavon resident, Tiffany Morton, says she’s been working out with fitness professionals her entire life, but no one measures up to Shawn Jordan’s customized program.

“He pushes without being overbearing, and he listens to what my personal goals are,” says Morton. “I guarantee you, my workout is different than everyone else’s because it’s tailor-designed for me. And let me tell you, one-on-one makes all the difference. You get results quickly which is not only motivating, but also gives you the assurance that you’re working out properly, eliminating injuries.”

Heath resident Angela Moran concurs.

“I’ve been training with Shawn since April. He’s a true professional,” says Moran. “He’s flexible while still holding me accountable…his routines are never boring, mixing things up week to week, and implementing creative exercises to match my personal goals. I’ve seen great results, and plan to continue.”

In addition to one-on-one training, Jordan offers boot camps, youth training, sports performance training, corrective exercise, and massage therapy. He prides himself on customizing every session to meet the needs of the client.
“Consistency is the ultimate factor in my clients’ success,” says Jordan. “It takes strength, drive and commitment to succeed in anything, but the benefits far outweigh the challenges. I am inspired to help others reach their fitness goals in a way that suits their objectives. It’s a challenge that keeps me motivated. I believe my passion for what I do makes my personalized program a cut above the rest.”
