Rockwall Rubber Duck Regatta this weekend

Waddle you be doing this weekend?

(ROCKWALL, TX – September 22, 2015) If last year is any indication, you’ll be joining thousands of friends and neighbors as they flock to The Harbor on Lake Ray Hubbard for the Rubber Duck Regatta.

The annual event features a 5K run, live music, vendor booths, a Kids Zone with inflatables, fireworks and of course – rubber duck races and a corporate duck pageant. Proceeds benefit Meals on Wheels and Boys & Girls Club Rockwall County.

Compete in the glow-in-the-dark race on Friday evening, or enter the yellow duck race on Saturday afternoon, by “adopting” a baby duck online at rockwallduckrace.org. Ducks are only $5 each, and you can enter as many as float your boat! There’s even a chance to win $10,000 as the Unlucky Lucky 13th Duck; see website for details.

Feeling ducky? Hanby Insurance is offering a chance to win ten grand. If your duck crosses the finish line in 13th place in the Glow Duck Race Friday or the Baby Duck Race Saturday, and the number on your duck matches a predetermined winning number in a sealed prize envelope, you will win $10,000. Businesses can purchase large corporate ducks ($100) and decorate them to represent their brand identity. All of the “duckerated” contestants will be on display, with prizes awarded to the most creative. This year’s Corporate Duck Pageant is sponsored by Rockwall Gold and Silver Pawn.
