Rockwall Jacket Backers name Athletes of the Month

(ROCKWALL, TX – Dec. 9, 2015) The Rockwall High School Jacket Backers have selected Caleb Broach as the Yellowjacket Athlete of the Month and Sydney Garber as the Lady Jacket Athlete of the Month.

Caleb Broach, a 12^th grade member of the varsity football team, was nominated by Coach Rodney Webb and chosen by the Jacket Backers board.

For the month, Caleb was named Dallas News Offensive Player of the Week for his performance vs Copperas Cove.

Caleb is a very hard worker. Caleb scored 14 TD’s and rushed for 679 yards in November, leading the Jackets to four consecutive victories.

“Caleb’s performance in the month of November is one of the most memorable moments for a Rockwall athlete in several years,” said Coach Webb.

Also nominated was Alex Rodriguez (Swimming), Cameron Schmucker (Basketball), and Michael Duvall (Wrestling).

Sydney Garber, an 11^th grade member of the varsity golf team, was nominated by Coach Billy Watkins and chosen by the Jacket Backers board.

For the month, Sydney had a fall scoring average of 76. She has placed in the top 10 in all four tournaments. She has a 1st-2nd-3rd place individually and has helped the Lady Jackets to two victories in the four tournaments played this fall.

Sydney is a very hard worker. She has made herself into the best golfer on our team and is one of the best golfers in the area. She is currently getting many looks from colleges and is a leader by her work ethic. She is a very driven young woman and you will see her playing at the next level in the future.

“Sydney is the kind of kid every coach loves to have on their team. When we play, you do not have to worry about her being ready and focused. She has a drive like no other and on tournament day, I do not have to worry about what she is going to shoot. She will always compete and give it her all,” said Coach Watkins.

Also nominated were Amanda Armstrong (Swimming), Haley Hicks (Basketball), and Jackie Mote (Wrestling).
