Medicare Fraud Prevention Program open to all at First Christian Church Rockwall

(ROCKWALL, TX – Jan. 19, 2016) An informative program on Medicare/Medicaid Fraud Prevention will be presented for all interested parties at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 3 at First Christian Church Rockwall.

The presenter is Mike Shipley, Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) Advocate through the North Central Texas Agency on Aging.  Among other things, Mr. Shipley will show how to monitor the Explanation of Benefits from Medicare to be sure our record is not being fraudulently used.  Following the presentation will be a discussion period, and attendees will be given informational materials.

The SMP is a voluntary organization involved with and supported by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Health Care Fraud and Abuse Control Program. It is also supported in part by a grant from the Administration on Aging, Administration for Community Living and Department of Health and Human Services.  SMP’s mission is to empower and assist Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and care givers to prevent, detect, and report health care fraud, errors, and abuse through outreach, counseling, and education.
