Talking turkey, costumes, cocktails, and pirate cruises

Dodie's General Manager Dan Keils, his wife Julie, and Dodie the Mudbug passed out treats at The Harbor's Halloween Extravaganza last weekend.

(ROCKWALL, TX – Oct. 27, 2016) Crawfish season won’t peak again until early spring, but that doesn’t stop Dodie the Mudbug from making appearances – and new friends – every chance she gets. In fact, Rockwall’s familiar mudbug mascot was seen handing out “Boo Bucks” at the Halloween Extravaganza at The Harbor last weekend – treating families to discounts at Dodie’s Cajun Diner.

Next up, Dodie the Mudbug says kids under 12 eat free this Saturday, Oct. 29, up until 6 p.m. That evening, Dodie’s annual Costumes & Cocktails Halloween Bash kicks off at 8 p.m., with drink specials like $5 Zombies, Bloody Marys, Hurricanes and Margaritas; live music by Unfinished Business; and a “come as you aren’t” costume contest for a chance to win a $100 gift card.

Pirates are a mudbug’s best friend – especially when they’re riding aboard Seawolf on Lake Ray Hubbard for Halloween. Sail with Scott is offering Pirate Cruises for Halloween, and if you set sail, Captain Scott will be passing out more “Boo Bucks” from Dodie the Mudbug. Inquire about pirate cruises at sailwithscott.com or 855-724-5948.

You may or may not see Dodie the Mudbug on the wrestling mat, but she’ll be passing out discount coupons to Rockwall wrestlers when they take on the Lovejoy Leopards during a special War on the Shore event at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 at The Harbor spray park. The event benefits Pin Cancer.

Dodie the Mudbug is also talking turkey, as the restaurant prepares to host its annual Cajun Thanksgiving Day Dinner.
