(ROCKWALL, TX — March 30, 2017) Local authorities called Black Star Sport Horses to assist with a horse search and rescue yesterday. A pair of horses escaped their pasture in Heath, Texas when a neighbor’s construction worker accidentally left a pasture gate open. Police officers were called to the scene to retrieve the horses running free in a field off FM-549 near Heath High School. The chase went on for approximately 90 minutes before authorities called Black Star Sport Horses co-owner Jackie Blackmon for help.

Jackie and his daughter Jessica Blackmon arrived at the scene with a bucket full of grain and a couple of halters. Two patrol cars stayed on either side of the field to make sure the horses wouldn’t go on the road. In just a few minutes were able to coax the horses to the bucket, where they were able to halter and lead the horses back to their rightful pasture. The neighbor, who prefers to remain anonymous, states, “I want to give a huge thank you to Jackie and Jessica for helping us rescue the horses, who were running free and loving every minute of it. We couldn’t have caught them without Black Star Sport Horses!”

“It was just another day at the office!” says Jackie Blackmon, who grew up training young horses in Fort Worth before opening the premier dressage training, show, and sales facility Black Star Sport Horses with his wife, dressage champion Lisa Blackmon.  “Horses are our business. We were happy to help.”
