Eno’s Pizza Tavern Opening in Historic Downtown Forney

Locally owned restaurant serves up thin crust pizza to support nonprofits

(FORNEY, TX – Dec. 21, 2017) The second location of Eno’s Pizza Tavern will soft open in historic downtown Forney this month with a series of fundraising preview dinners to help introduce the restaurant to local diners while giving back to the community.

The preview dinners will take place in late December, benefiting local Forney nonprofit organizations. Advanced reservations for the preview dinners are required, and 100 percent of ticket sales will benefit the nonprofits. Reservations can be made at enospizza.com.

The Eno’s Forney menu will feature the restaurant’s signature thin crust pizzas in unique varieties ranging from Meatball & The Goat (fresh basil, goat cheese, sliced Texas beef and boar Texas meatball) to Pineapple Fresca (pineapple, arugula & parmesan salad, fresh jalapeño and Benton’s ham). Other menu items include housemade soups, salads, pastas and sandwiches. Eno’s will offer a wide selection of local craft beers, wine and cocktails.

The use of locally sourced ingredients is an important aspect of the Eno’s menu. In Forney, there will be several special offerings to showcase local purveyors including a rotating selection of artisanal meats from 4-T’s Bar-B-Q on The Perfect Picnic charcuterie board and Sunnyvale honey on the Pig Smiley pizza. The menu will also feature the Firehouse Deli sandwich – a nod to the location’s former life as Forney Fire Station No. 1. Eno’s famous Tavern Burger made with Texas beef, Calabrian aioli, housemade pickles, lettuce, tomatoes and onions will be reintroduced on the Forney menu.

The 3,600 square-foot restaurant is located at 215 S. Bois D’Arc St. Designed by Donna and Allan Spillers, it will have an eclectic, comfortable atmosphere. The pair have been in the restaurant design industry since 1975 and have designed more than 1,000 restaurants nationwide including the original Eno’s. Unique interior features include the use of reclaimed shiplap and other recycled materials, locally made furniture, and black and white hexagonal tile. The restaurant will include an outdoor patio, large event room and a seating capacity of 180.

Support of other local businesses and community organizations has been a cornerstone to Eno’s success since opening in Dallas in 2008. Eno’s was an early and avid advocate of the North Texas craft beer industry and helped to establish Brew Riot, one of the premier Dallas-area annual homebrew competitions. Eno’s continues to stay involved by supporting local schools and working with the Bishop Arts District Merchants Association and the marketing board of VisitDallas.

“Forney is a tight-knit community, and we have enjoyed immersing ourselves in the city to get to know our new neighbors as we have constructed the new restaurant over the last several months,” said Eno’s co-owner Shane Spillers. “We can’t wait to open and welcome neighbors and community members to Eno’s Forney for delicious pizza.”

The Eno’s opening has added 45 new jobs to the local economy, and Frank Esser has been named the store manager. He previously was the bar manager at Eno’s in Dallas and just celebrated his fifth anniversary with company.

In its soft opening phase, Eno’s will be open Tuesdays-Sundays for dinner service. In February, hours will expand to include lunch service beginning at 11:30 a.m. At that time, Eno’s will also offer delivery service through online ordering.
