Rockwall LULAC helps sponsor Feb. 16 community meeting on 287(g) program with ICE

(ROCKWALL, TX — February 8, 2018) Rockwall LULAC (League of United Latin American Citizens) is helping to sponsor a community meeting to discuss the Rockwall County Sheriff’s new 287(g) program with ICE. The meeting will be at 6:00 PM, Friday, February 16, 2018, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 3003 Horizon Road, Rockwall, Texas 75032.

A panel composed of the Rockwall County District Attorney Kenda Culpepper, the Mexican Consul General Francisco de la Torre Galindo, Alejandro Camacho with the Baptist Immigration Center, and others will explain the new agreement with ICE, how it might impact Rockwall’s immigrant communities, and answer questions from the audience. The meeting will be moderated by Rockwall businesswoman Enid Reyes.

The meeting is free and open to the public.
