Jones Elementary students know Kindness

(ROCKWALL, TX – Sept. 21, 2018) The Jones Elementary sixth grade girls participated in the Kindness Campaign, thanks to Jones Counselor, Mrs. Batson.  After seeing and experiencing girl-against-girl teasing and bullying, Mrs. Batson decided to introduce the internationally recognized kindness program to the sixth grade girls.

This program brings awareness and healing to the negative and long-lasting effects of girl-against-girl bullying and relational aggression.  The sixth grade girls, along with their parents, met together to watch the powerful documentary, Finding Kind. This documentary chronicles the journey of two women to spread a kindness movement across the country.  Through interviews with girls of all ages, it becomes apparent that everyone has either been the victim or the perpetrator of girl against girl bullying.

At the conclusion of the assembly, all of the girls are given the power and opportunity to mend broken friendships and relationships and commit to taking action steps towards change, through the “Kind Apology” cards and the “Kind Pledge” cards.  It was a very powerful and moving assembly and we hope to see an increased thoughtfulness amongst the girls and a kinder Jones Elementary.  For more information, please go to kindcampaign.com.
