Cain Middle School Students Make All-Region Honor Band

(ROCKWALL, TX — November 19, 2018) Congratulations to six band students from Cain Middle School for successfully auditioning and making the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Region 25 Middle School Honor Band.

On Saturday and Monday, November 10th and 12th, band students from Cain Middle School traveled to Lovejoy ISD and auditioned for only a handful of spots in the elite ensemble. These students competed against nearly 1000 other 7th and 8th grade students from 17 different school districts in our region including McKinney ISD, Wylie ISD, and Allen ISD.

Bravo to all the students for working so hard throughout the entire process. Special congratulations to Mr. Trevor Ousey, Ms. Ellen Chmura, Mr. Rod Kosterman, and the team of private lesson instructors for their help and support along the way.

Here are the six All-Region students:

• Morgan Pyatt, Trumpet
• Collin Stine, Percussion
• Trevor Stanford, Trumpet
• Timothy Vitanza, Alto Saxophone
• Gavin Wilquet, French Horn

In addition to the six students above, one student made alternate status for the honor band – Luke Hidalgo, Tuba.

These students will join the other Honor Band members from around the region and participate in the TMEA All-Region Honor Band clinic and concert on December 7th and 8th at Princeton High School in Princeton ISD.
