(ROCKWALL, TX – Dec. 17, 2018) Earlier this month, the Rockwall School of Music received notification that they were nominated as a Music School of the Year finalist for 2019. This honor was bestowed upon ten of the top privately-owned music schools in the US and Canada.
The final vote for this award will take place in April at the National Conference in Dallas for school of music owners from across the US and Canada. The nomination selection was based upon owner’s superior business organization, business systems, client satisfaction, exceptional growth over the past year and friendly desk staff. Marty Fort, president of the #1 music academy coaching program in the world, will be presenting the award in April.
About the Rockwall School of Music:
When Russ and Karen Porter became owners of the Rockwall School of Music in 2004, they never imagined it would quadruple in size. Over these past 14 years. RSM has grown from 125 students to almost 500 students. These children, teens and adults receive weekly private and small group music lessons in piano, guitar, drums, singing, violin, viola, cello, bass, ukulele and more. The studio is currently located at 3100 Ridge Road. Their new state-of-the-art music studio will be opening in February, 2019 at 1920 Mims Rd, Rockwall.
The Rockwall School of Music is unique because it provides lessons year-round. Students can begin at any time of the year for personalized or small group instruction which is provided by university-trained musicians who have a heart for teaching.
As alumni of Ouachita Baptist University, UNT and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminar, Russ and Karen have been professional musicians since 1980. As teacher, choral conductor and accompanist, Russ and Karen have served thousands of individuals from preschoolers to Senior Adults who want to develop their God-given musical talent. Through the school districts, churches, civic choruses private lessons, and orchestras, the Porters have invested their adult lives in the communities where they have lived. The Porter’s feel most fortunate to have called Rockwall their home for the past 14 years.
