What are Your New Year’s Resolutions?

(ROCKWALL, TX — December 28, 2018) It’s almost time to ring in 2019! Blue Ribbon News asked folks around Rockwall County about their resolutions and goals for the new year.

Julia Bryant
President, Royse City Chamber of Commerce
“My resolutions for the new year are to two-step and golf with my husband more; just walk away from the computer and go outside; take some back roads and avoid the highway; reduce the amount of times a month I eat cake; and not be jealous of people who can grow a plant without killing it!”

Adrienne Balkum
McLendon-Chisholm City Council, Place 1
“I recently started my own lifestyle blog at AdrienneBalkum.com, so I plan to share a lot of my personal to professional experience. Visitors will get to see my creative side to personal reviews and recommendations. My aspiration for the blog is to be a place to be inspired, informed and empowered.”

“One of my New Year’s Resolutions for 2019 is to grow our Puppy Raiser Program by adding 10 new Rockwall County Volunteer Puppy Raisers who will help us train service dogs for disabled veterans.”

John Beaman
Heath City Council, Place 5
“My New Year’s resolution is pretty simple this year: to grow and help others grow personally and professionally.”

Darby Burkey
President, Rockwall Chamber of Commerce
“Personally, I’d like to hit my 100th class at Club Pilates in the first quarter. Since beginning this regimen, I have experienced so many positives in my life; Feeling better and conquering all the stress that life can throw our way. I know this is helping me be better at doing what I love – helping others. Professionally, I am in the beginning stages of a new position and couldn’t be happier to grow, learn and implement all that I can, not only for the Chamber, but for our community.”

Community Relations Director, Nissan of Greenville
“My 2019 resolution is to purposefully pursue more quality time with my family. My busy lifestyle sometimes impedes on the amount of time I am able to devote to my family, and CoCo told me she was feeling neglected! She doesn’t like staying home alone, you know.”
