(FATE, TX – Jan. 14, 2019) A portion of Hampton Drive was closed earlier today due to a domestic incident that was resolved peacefully after several hours of Fate DPS intervention with the support of Rockwall PD. Hampton Drive is now reopened.

The incident involved a female who barricaded herself inside of her home and threatened to harm herself. Her family notified Fate DPS in fear for her life. At no time did she threaten others. The female did speak with the DPS but stated that “she wanted to be left alone.”

Rockwall PD responded to support the Fate DPS with a SWAT team and a negotiator.  In an effort to protect and secure Billie Stevenson Elementary School during this incident, Rockwall ISD enacted their lock-down procedures. During student release, parents were able to drive and pick up children and buses took children home. Students who walked or rode their bikes to school today were required to be picked up by their parents.

The incident is over.  The female was taken into custody for her mental wellness and no injuries occurred.
