Jones Elementary Teacher Publishes Disney Coding Adventures Book Series

(ROCKWALL, TX – Jan. 18, 2019) Allyssa Loya, library media specialist at Jones Elementary, has published a book series titled Disney Coding Adventures.

The books are about teaching young students the basics of coding. Students complete activities and learn to think like programmers while learning correct terminology.  It’s a way for students to get started with coding and for teachers to help their students even if they don’t have much experience with coding.

“One of the most amazing feelings has been seeing students have fun while working through the activities and learning,” said Loya. “It makes me feel like I accomplished what I set out to do.”

The series features four Disney movies and takes the characters through different moments. These moments include problems that the reader is invited to solve using coding skills.
