Rockwall City Councilmember Dana K Macalik Seeks Re-Election

Macalik enters campaign with sound record on infrastructure maintenance, improvements, safety and levelheaded approach to development and growth

(ROCKWALL, TX – Jan. 16, 2019) Rockwall City Councilmember Dana K Macalik has announced her plans to seek re-election to a second two-year term on the Rockwall City Council in this Spring’s municipal elections which will take place on May 4.

Macalik, a 5th generation Rockwallian, was first elected to Rockwall City Council Place 5 in May 2017.

“It’s a tremendous privilege to serve on the City Council,” she said. “In this first term, I’ve worked hard to be responsive to constituents’ concerns and promote policies that ensure everyone has the opportunity to succeed.”

“I am proud of the work the Mayor and my colleagues have done so far and look forward to building on the success and momentum we’ve accomplished.  We need to preserve what we have and continue to creatively and aggressively maintain Rockwall’s uniqueness, great city services and low taxes, which make our community a special place to live and raise our families.”

Macalik serves or served on the following boards and commissions within these past two years: Star Transit, Hotel Occupancy Tax, Arts Commission, Main Street, Airport Board, as well as a committee member on the City’s Comprehensive Plan.

“I look forward to continuing individual and collective efforts to keep Rockwall a progressive, welcoming and vibrant city for all residents stated Macalik.”  I want to build upon the accomplishments I’ve made in my first term on the City Council.  I’m committed, ready and willing”, said Macalik.

“I am excited to continue learning from and discussing issues with people across Rockwall as we work together towards a common goal – ensuring Rockwall remains an amazing place for generations to come.
