Rockwall Economic Development Corporation Welcomes New Board Members

(ROCKWALL, TX — January 11, 2019) The Rockwall Economic Development Corporation (REDC) welcomes Rockwall residents Matt Neyland and Rick Johnson to serve on the Board of Directors for the organization. Neyland and Johnson were appointed by the Rockwall City Council in November and will replace Bob Amick and Stewart Storms whose terms expired at the end of 2018.

Neyland earned two bachelor degrees from Southern Methodist University and holds a J.D. from the University of Denver. He served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps and  currently works as a general contractor at Adolfson & Peterson Construction in Richardson. Neyland also serves on the Board of Directors for Lonestar CASA and recently filled the role of  an associate producer for an award winning independent film.

“It’s an exciting time to be in Rockwall,” Neyland said. “It is my hope that we can build upon the momentum with the REDC and continue to make strides in growing the tax base and providing high quality employment opportunities for our local residents.”

Johnson is a veteran of the United States Army and is currently the Director of Business Development for RE-MAX Landmark in Rockwall. He also serves on the City of Rockwall’s Architectural Review Board and the Board of Directors for Lonestar CASA where he is acting Vice President. Johnson is involved in a number of charitable and philanthropic causes, including the DFW Salvation Army, Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer, and being of service to persons that struggle with addiction.

“I am interested in the REDC because I really enjoy being a part of the community I live in and am excited to be involved with the future growth of Rockwall,” Johnson said.

At their December meeting, the REDC Board of Directors also elected new officers to serve for the 2019 calendar year. Craig Renfro will serve as Chairman, Rick Carroll as Vice Chairman, and former Chairman Dale Cherry will serve as the organization’s Secretary.
