Royse City ISD Honors School Board for Advocating for Local Schoolchildren

(ROYSE CITY, TX — January 7, 2019) January is School Board Recognition Month, and Royse City ISD will join the Texas Association of School Boards and other districts across the state to honor the countless contributions of these locally elected advocates for Texas schoolchildren and public schools.

“The men and women who serve on our amazing school board shoulder enormous responsibility. As elected officials, and as a team, they establish the policies that provide the framework for our public schools. Over the years, they have proven to be local and state-wide advocates for school children and it is a blessing to work alongside them,” said Superintendent Kevin Worthy.

Board members serving Royse City ISD are: President Julie Stutts, Vice President Scott Muckensturm, Secretary Christina Carrion, Mike Anderson, Eric Fort, Bobby Summers and Dr. Brian Zator. Together, they share 55 combined years of service as school board members.

Under their leadership, Royse City ISD staff have enjoyed pay raises and one-time pay incentives. Multiple schools are considered National Showcase Campuses by Capturing Kids’ Hearts. Additionally, the district is seeing fast enrollment growth and successfully passed the May 2016 Bond Referendum to build a new middle school and renovate older facilities.

“Our district benefits from the tireless work and countless hours contributed by these local citizens who work without pay. They serve as a crucial link between our community and our classrooms. It’s more important than ever before that the public support public education so that today’s students are prepared to be productive citizens and the leaders of tomorrow. Please take a moment and tell school board members ‘thanks for caring about our children and giving so much to our community.’ Let them know we support them and that their dedicated service is recognized and truly appreciated,” said Superintendent Worthy.
