Heritage Christian Academy in Rockwall Hires Safety & Security Director

(ROCKWALL, TX – March 7, 2019) Heritage Christian Academy has hired Michael Ashlock to serve as the school’s new Safety and Security Director. Ashlock comes to HCA from both the private and public sector where he has more than 20 years experience in all phases of general security and investigations with particular strengths in leadership, threat management, investigations, and employee training.

“I’m very excited to join Heritage Christian Academy,” said Ashlock. “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to be part of the team and to the challenges that come with it.”

Ashlock most recently served as a Security Operations Senior Manager for Charter Communications, where he has worked since 2011. In that role, Ashlock was responsible for the day-to-day planning, developing, and implementation of security programs and strategies. Before that, Ashlock spent nine years as a Dallas County police officer where he served as the (SWAT) tactical team leader, developed and led tactical team operation plans and training, as well as leading investigative teams.

At HCA, Ashlock will oversee the security program of HCA to ensure physical safety of students, parents, guests, employees, and school assets. As well as the development and training of students, parents, and employees regarding best practices in the areas of safety and security. Ashlock will work hand-in-hand with school administration in the planning, implementation, and oversight of security, safety, and emergency management.

“I have the privilege and responsibility of overseeing every area of HCA. Safety and security are always on the top of this extensive list.  We must do everything in our power to ensure that students have a safe environment in which to learn daily.” said Dr. Helmer, HCA Head of School.  “Having a professional like Mr. Ashlock join our team, brings a level of experience and expertise that I simply do not possess.  I thank God for the asset that Mr. Ashlock will be to our school family.

HCA is committed to taking every effort to ensure the safety and security of the students, staff, and families of HCA, and is excited to have Michael Ashlock working with the entire staff towards this goal.
