UPDATE: South Ridge Venue Brings Premier Dining and Entertainment to Heath

(HEATH, TX – March 25, 2019) For the City of Heath, 2019 is already shaping up to be a big year development-wise. The city’s first grocery store in Tom Thumb has a target opening date in the third quarter this year. And possibly this summer, Heath residents are in for a real treat with the opening of a premier dining and entertainment venue known as South Ridge.

Standard Service owners Gus Antos, Elias Pope and Neville Govender will move their restaurant from Rockwall into the exciting new South Ridge venue at the northwest corner of FM 740 and FM 1140. The expanded 4,500-square-foot restaurant will feature a full dinner menu, take home family meals, and possibly breakfast. The restaurant anchors a large parking lot with 220 parking spaces, an outdoor stage for live music entertainment as well as two large green turf areas where folks can enjoy fun, games, relaxation and even more food options.

The greenspace will feature the increasingly-popular game of pickleball, with two courts on site for folks to enjoy. When you get worn out from all the fun and games, relax next to one of six fire pits with seating for 20 each, or you can grab something delicious from one of the food trucks on site.

One of the most eye-catching amenities is sure to be the gigantic LED screen, which measures 14 and a half feet by 24 feet – perfect for catching the big game on the big screen or enjoying a family movie night.

Attached to the restaurant and greenspace will also be a Farmers Market run by the development and housed inside a pavilion, with eight to 10 vendors offering a variety of goods on the weekends.

“As a Heath resident since 1989, I am especially excited for the opportunity to build this in a city that has meant so much to me,” Antos said.

Adjacent to the restaurant and entertainment venue is the South Ridge two-story office building housing several locally owned businesses. The City of Heath recently welcomed CoCreate into the 35,000-square-foot building. A membership at CoCreate Exchange Heath grants you a number of premier workspace amenities including private offices and conference rooms, free parking, credits to the adjoining Standard Service restaurant and craft coffee shop, and welcoming common areas.

Now for the million-dollar question: when will the South Ridge dining and entertainment venue be opened to the public? At the time of this writing, crews continue to work hard to have everything complete for a mid-summer 2019 opening. A kickoff event to celebrate the grand opening is also in the works; stay tuned for more details.
