(ROCKWALL, TX — April 30, 2019) If you’ve been out to Harry Myers Park lately, you might have noticed a sweet new addition to its amenities — three covered pickleball courts! On Wednesday, May 1, Rockwall Parks and Recreation invites the community out to a ribbon cutting for its new pickleball courts bringing fun for all ages. Event guests can also catch a friendly exhibition match on the new courts, located across from the Harry Myers Community Center, following the ribbon cutting.

For those unfamiliar with the game, pickleball is a game for everyone that’s played with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes. It combines the elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong, and can be played as doubles or singles.

Pickleball has become a vastly popular sport for folks of all ages. According to USAPA.org, there are over 15,000 indoor and outdoor courts in the United States; and at least one location in all 50 states.
