Rowlett Hometown Heroes Awards Nominees Announced

(ROWLETT, TX – April 23, 2019) The Rowlett Chamber of Commerce is holding its first ever Hometown Heroes Awards Banquet on Friday, May 3, 2019. At the Hometown Heroes Awards Banquet they will honor the extraordinary in Rowlett, including police, fire, public works, veterans, teachers, principals and many others!  They will also be recognizing local citizens who have had a great impact on the City and/or Chamber.

Also being presented are the Police Officer and Student Resource Officer (SRO) of the Year (sponsored by the Rowlett Firefighters Association), the Veteran of the Year (sponsored by the Veteran’s Resource & Outreach Center) and the Vernon Schrade Heritage Hall of Fame Award (sponsored by the Schrade family).

The guest speaker will be Samantha Horwitz, a former Secret Service Agent who was in the North Tower of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Everyone in attendance will receive an autographed copy of Sam’s book. We will also have a live band and a cash bar. The Hometown Heroes Awards Banquet will take place at the Rowlett Community Centre on Friday, May 3rd, with a cocktail hour beginning at 6:00 pm followed by dinner at 7:00 pm.
