‘Strong Women, Strong Girls’ Program to Celebrate Personal Worth, Strength and Beauty

(ROCKWALL, TX – April 25, 2019) The JER Chilton YMCA at Rockwall will host a free “Strong Women, Strong Girls: Learning to Love YOU” program, open to women of all ages and to girls age 10 and older, from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 3.

Women and girls throughout the community are encouraged to come enjoy an evening of wellness, encouragement and empowerment. You do not have to a be a YMCA member to attend. Guest speaker Jenna Winegeart, a local blogger and speaker, will share her story of overcoming body image and self-worth struggles, and provide practical tips for how to exchange lies for truth.

LES MILLS International Master Trainer Anna Lowery will teach a special BODY COMBAT workout class, along with local instructor Jessica Spencer-Gardner.

“We want to start a movement that changes how women and young girls view their worth, as more than a number on a scale or a size,” said Diana Fulton, Health and Wellness Coordinator at the JER Chilton YMCA. “According the Dove Foundation, 93 percent of young girls and women feel anxiety about their appearance. We want to encourage the development of a healthy mind, body and spirit. Strong Women, Strong Girls  allows us to start changing the conversation, helping those in our community to feel confident and empowered.”

The event will also include a Braid Bar, where guests can get their hair braided for free, courtesy of Salon Effects and Southern Glam Salon. Following the program, Hallie B’s Serve Shack will be outside serving popsicles. Bring $4-$6 and half of the proceeds will be donated to local charities.

Gather your friends, daughters, co-workers, nieces, and granddaughters and join the experience.
