(ROCKWALL, TX – May 2, 2019) The Rock Wall NSDAR Chapter (yes, we’re named after Rockwall’s rock wall) was extremely pleased to give $1,600 college scholarship to Emily King, a senior from Rockwall High School. Emily (pictured in the center) wrote a very persuasive essay entitled, “Our American Heritage and Our Responsibility for Preserving It: Challenges as We Move Forward into the Future.”  Emily’s essay will move on to Texas NSDAR State Competition.

Turner Mauldin, an 8th grader from Providence Academy, (on the left of Emily) was our American History Essay Contest winner. His essay was written from a male’s point of view entitled, “The Woman’s Suffrage Campaign of 1919.”

Submitted by Julie McCormack,Rock Wall Chapter Regent.
