Local Teen Alternative Band to Perform at Sideways July 5

(ROCKWALL, TX — July 2, 2019) Come out to Sideways at The Harbor on Friday, July 5, at 8 p.m. to catch a live performance from a group of highly talented local teen musicians and their band, 3 Blocks Away. Joining the band will be special guest Matthew Fiock, a phenomenal ukelele musician bringing a modernized mix of island, rock and reggae tunes.

Currently ranked as the #1 Alternative Band in Dallas on Reverbnation, 3 Blocks Away started out as the House Band for School of Rock in Rockwall. Making up the band are 15-year-old Kenna Kirkwood (vocals), 13-year-old Cale Bragg (drums), 15-year-old Mateo Young (guitar), and 14-yeard-old Blake Adams (bass). Kirkwood will be a sophomore at Royse City High School this fall. In June, she traveled to Georgia and outperformed two dozen other strong contestants to win the Dream Night Talent Search competition. The grand prize included $1,000 cash and a front line pass to audition for America’s Got Talent or The Voice. Bragg, Young and Adams are all members of their own thrash metal band, Anoxik.

The young musicians’ talents and enthusiasm have seen them perform gigs at The House of Blues in Dallas and on the Gotham stage at Six Flags in Arlington. In fact, the band received an invite to perform again at Six Flags later this month and in August. Recently, the band also traveled to San Antonio to audition for America’s Got Talent.

Check out the band’s latest tunes on iTunes, Spotify and Amazon Music, or follow them on Facebook, Instagram(@3blocksawayusa) and Twitter (3_Blocksaway).
