(ROCKWALL, TX – Sept. 28, 2019) Rockwall Farmers Market closed for the season today, but not before Friends of Downtown Rockwall presented a $5,000 check to Food for Kids, a service project started several years ago by Rockwall Kiwanis. Today the club provides 600+ food bags every month for children in Rockwall ISD’s free and reduced meal program who need additional food over the weekends. Children are selected for this program by teachers, counselors, and staff who are familiar with their situations and know of the need.

The following schools and clubs are served through this effort:
Boys & Girls Club
Helping Hands
Rochell Elementary
Reinhardt Elementary
Dobbs Elementary
Cullins Lake Pointe Elementary
Springer Elementary
Jones Elementary

The Rockwall County Kiwanis Club meets at noon every Tuesday at the Divine Peace Lutheran Church.

Shout-out to all the volunteers, vendors and the community for the market’s success!
