Delta Kappa Gamma Inducts New Members, Recognizes Scholarship Winner

(ROCKWALL, TX – Oct. 22, 2019) October’s Delta Kappa Gamma Society meeting was held at the Rockwall County Library on Monday, October 4. New members were inducted, and last spring’s Rockwall County Professional Educator’s Scholarship recipient Julie Byrnes was introduced.

Julie has been an employee of Rockwall ISD for 13 years and has taught at several Rockwall elementary schools. She is currently teaching SAGE at Billie Stevenson Elementary. The $500 scholarship Julie received will be used toward her tuition at Texas A&M Commerce. She is currently working on her doctoral in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis on educational technology. Members of DKG were pleased to award the scholarship to such an outstanding recipient.

Delta Kappa Gamma Society is a professional honor society for key women educators. Rockwall’s chapter, Texas Lambda Upsilon, is led by President Debbie Smothermon and Vice President Sherry Packer.
