(ROCKWALL, TX — October 3, 2019) On Thursday, Oct. 10, future servicemembers from the University of Texas are going to run a football nearly 200 miles, making the trek from Austin all the way up to Dallas for the 2019 Cotton Bowl. Once there, they’ll play football against their fellow ROTC cadets from the University of Oklahoma.

This tradition, 35 years in the making, is an incredible feat. That’s why sponsor and longtime supporter of the Red River Run, Navy Federal Credit Union, has set up “Cheer Stations” along the route where cadets can take 15 minutes to grab water and meet folks from the town.

Cheer Station 1:
When: Thursday, October 10th between 10:30am-12:00pm
Where: Waco, TX at the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial (203 N University Parks Dr., Waco, TX 76701)

Cheer Station 2:
When: Thursday, October 10th between 7:00-8:30pm
Where: Waxahachie, TX at the Historic Market Depot (501 S Rogers St. Waxahachie, TX 75165)

Join this incredible tradition and cheer on the servicemembers as they make their journey to the Cotton Bowl!

The UT Longhorns take on the Oklahoma Sooners in the AT&T Red River Showdown at Cotton Bowl Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 12. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m.
